PTLLS is a compulsory qualification for all new teachers in further and adult education. PTLLS is a four unit qualification containing a range of learning outcomes. From Septemberany person that is a tutor, trainer, teacher, lecturer or instructor in England is required to hold a professional PTLLS certificate.

However, it is seen as best practice and is also a requirement to be able to deliver QCF qualifications.
